Ancient Indian music has devised a special therapy based on the 72 ragas. It is appropriate to define Raga at this point. Raga is neither melody alone, not notes; neither scale nor mode. It's an ensemble of all these.According to an ancient Indian text, Swara Shastra, the seventy-two melakarta ragas (parent ragas) control seventy-two important nerves in the body. It is believed that a person who sings/performs a raga bound to the raga specifications (lakshanas) and with purity in pitch (swara shuddi) will have complete control on the corresponding nerve.
To quote a few, for those who suffer from hypertension, ragas such as Ahirbhairav and Todi are prescribed. To control anger and bring down violence within oneself, Carnatic ragas like Punnagavarali, Sahana and so on, come handy. Not only psychological, but the somatic or physiological impact of ragas have come to light in recent research. For instance, stomach-related disorders are said to be cured with some Hindustani ragas such as Deepak (acidity) and Jaunpuri (constipation) and Malkauns or Hindolam (intestinal gas and fever). Simple iterative musical rhythms with low pitched swaras, as in bhajans are capable of relaxation, as observed with the alpha-levels of the brain waves. They may also lead to favourable hormonal changes in the system.

On the therapeutic side, nothing new is to be invented.We just have to know how to knock the hidden goldmine.There is an urgent need for a detailed enquiry based on scientific parameters and the medicinal effects of Music. No doubt,its a long journey,but worth to start off. There is a growing awareness that ragas could complement or even be a safe alternative for many medical interventions. For this purpose, it is necessary that exponents in Indian ragas join experts in medicine to help evolve a scientific system of raga therapy for the various illnesses of modern times.

First you should go
start > run >eventvwr.msc

Events are stored in three log files: Application, Security, and System. These logs can be reviewed and archived.
For our purposes we want the System log. Click on "System" in the left-hand column for a list of events. Look for a date and time when you weren't home and your computer should have been off.

Double click on the eg: info and it will show you the detail.

You can also use this log to see how long someone was on the computer. Just look at the time the computer was turned on and off for that day.

What is the allure of keyboard shortcuts? Do they really save time? Why bother since my mouse is permanently attached to my hand?

I like to use keyboard shortcuts, especially if someone is watching me, because they make me look like a pro. With just a few key strokes I can leave a mouser spinning his wheel! Whatever your motivation, here's a big list of keyboard shortcuts:

GENERAL SHORTCUTS
ALT- F4 - Quit a program / Shut down
ALT-TAB - Hold down the ALT key and hit tab to cycle through open windows.
CTL-ESCAPE - Display the Start menu

WINDOWS KEY SHORTCUTS
The Windows key can be used in conjunction with other keys to act as a keyboard shortcut for faster access to menu commands. Now, while the Alt key tends to open program menus (ex: Alt+F opens the File menu and Alt+E opens the Edit menu) and the Ctrl key performs actual operations (ex: Ctrl+C will copy and Ctrl+V will paste), the Windows key will open various Windows tools...
Win key + R will open the Start menu's Run box
Win key + F will open the Start menu's Find window
Win key + E will quickly launch Explorer
Win key + Pause/Break will open the System Properties window
Win key + M will Minimize all windows
Win key + Shift + M will undo Minimize all windows
Win key + D will switch between minimizing all open programs and showing them all

Win key by itself will open the Start menu
You can also open programs or folders on your desktop by pressing the Windows key + the first letter of the program/folder/shortcut + Enter . Sounds kinda tedious, but if you're in a bind with your mouse, it can come in quite handy.
ARROW TRICKS
Here's a cool little arrow trick to try with word processing programs. Next time you're using your arrow keys to go from one area of a sentence to another (left and right arrows), hold down your CTRL key. Instead of moving one space at a time, you'll go one word at a time.
If you're using the up and down arrows to go from line to line, holding down the CTRL key will make your cursor jump from paragraph to paragraph (well, from carriage return to carriage return anyway).
One last thing, if you hold down the SHIFT key while you do this (i.e. hold down SHIFT + CTRL at the same time), you select text as you arrow along.
I've tested this in MS Word and Wordpad, but it *should* work no matter what word processing program you use. HOME / END KEY FUN
Do you ever find yourself scrolling through a huge folder ? Well, if you need to get to the beginning or the end quickly, just press Ctrl+Home . If you want to get to the end, click Ctrl+End.

Hey, that's not all!
This little trick works on more than just folders. If you use the Home key in a word processor, it goes to the beginning of the line you're currently working on. If you hit the END key, it should head to the end of the current line. If you pair Home & End up with the Ctrl key in a word processor, you will be whisked away to the beginning or end of the document. Again, this should work, but it depends on your word processor.

Speedup your work by using keyboard more and mouse less.

Protect your password in cyber cafe and on public computers

Some time or the other, you must have used cyber dafe or public computers to access internet or mail.
Public computers are most prone to password hacking. Anyone can simply install a keylogger software to hack your password. Keylogging is one of the most insidious threats to a user's personal information. Passwords, credit card numbers etc. It is now very easy for the keylogger to harvest passwords. Each and every keystroke (whatever you type on the keyboard) gets recorded in the keylogger software and the person installing it can easily view what you have typd in. For example, if you go to hotmail.com and check your mails. Say your ID is sarahj7@hotmail.com and password is snoopy2. the keylogger software records your usename and password in its log file as

There's solution to this problem and you can easily fool the hacker.
The keylogger software sees and records everything,but it doesn't understand what it sees. I t does not know what to do with keys that are typed anywhere other than the password or user name fields.

So,between successive keys of the password if you enter random keys, the keylogger software wont ever come to konw where you typed in what..
In the process of recording the keys, the string that the keylogger receives will contain the password, but embedded in so much random junk that discovering it is infeasible.
So...

1.Go to hotmail.com or yahoo.com or any of the site where you need to insert a password or PIN.
2.Type in your user ID.
3. Type in the first characterof the password.
4. Click on the address bar in the internet explorer or Firefox. Type in some 3/4 random charachters.
5. Again go to password field and type in the second character of the password.And probably third too.
6. Again go to the addressbar and type in a few mroe random character.
7. Back to the password field and the next characters of the password.
Keep on repeatin the process till you type in the full password in the password field.

Instead of the password
snoopy2 the keylogger now gets:
hotmail.comspqmlainsdgsosdgfsodgfdpuouuyhdg2
Here a total of 26 random characters have been inserted among the 7 characters of the actual password!!!

No doubt it takes a little bit of more time than the usual process, but you're safe and secure that way!!!

Here is one of the most simple of all orkut tricks i am sharing with you today. How about writing a scrap without anything written on it, yes you are right writing a blank orkut scrap in someone’s scrapbook. It can be done easily. Nothing complex in this orkut trick just no javascript and no greasemonkey thing. So here are the steps to have some fun while orkutting by sending completely blank scraps to your orkut friends.
1. Login into your orkut account2. Open someone’s scrapbook, you can try it on your own first for testing.3. Write [b] or [i] in the scrapbook textarea4. Press post or submit
Voila ..!! the scrap you have just is written is completely blank. Want to know how does it happen, it is very simple thing. Actually these tags like [b] and [i] are used for making the text in orkut scrap bold and italic respectively. But when you provide the these tags but do not write any text between them then the tags get parsed as usual, and scrap is left blank due to this parsing of tags and absense of text between the tags. 1. Open your microsoft paint. Yes ofcourse from start, Programs, Acessories.2. Now press this keyboard shortcut from your keyboard alt+i+s3. Enter 95 and 95 in the textboxes, height to width ratio.4. Save this image as somethingxyz.jpeg.5. login into orkut and upload this image as your profile picture.6. Thats it and your are done.

Following are some cool orkut tricks that will enhance your orkutting experience quite a bit. There was a time when some javascript coders created some codes that used to do hell lot of cheeky things like rotating the friends pictures in the orkut scrapbook, enlarging the orkut pictures, full size photos in the orkut album, snake effects, making an orkut profile etc etc. Most of these cool orkut tricks now don’t work beacuse orkut has changed its codes now. They are changing their codes on the regular basis now, so it’s hard for coders to update their orkut javascripts fast enough and so rapidly. I am still looking for such new update tricks that can work with the latest codes. I will make a post when i accumulate them from places. But for today i am posting only some simple orkut tricks that are useful and funny too. It can make your scraps look funny and cool.
1. Show a cool STAR in your scraps: Just write “& # 9 7 3 3″ without spaces and quotes in your orkut scarp writing text box for testing directly in your friend’s scrapbook. And now submit your scrap. You will see a cool star icon showing up in your scrap. It is one of the simplest of orkut tricks. Isn’t it?.2. Write scraps in reverse order : You might wonder why would anyone want to write his or her scrap in a reverse text order. But first ask youself why do you use orkut. For fun ?.. then writing a scrap in mirror reverse order will increase your fun a bit more. So, heres how to do it. In the beginning of your scrap write “& # 8 2 3 8″ without spaces and quotes. Write your message in the box after the code and then click the submit button. You will all the text you posted is in now reversed order. It is just like secret writing, not in real sense exactly. But still a cool orkut trick.
